L&T to acquire Spectrum Infotech

MUMBAI: Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for acquiring 100 percent shareholding of Spectrum Infotech Pvt Ltd, a Bangalore-based defense electronics and aerospace R&D company. According to the company sources, the acquisition is in line with L&T's strategy to strengthen its leadership position in the area of defense electronics and avionics. The acquisition will be managed under L&T's newly launched strategic electronics center in Bangalore, focusing on defense electronics, avionics, and aerospace solutions, they added. Spectrum Infotech focuses on technology and product development in embedded computation, control and signal processing, for both hardware and software. The company is currently engaged in design and development of prototype sub-systems and units. Spectrum Infotech’s client base covers defense research & development laboratories and defense public sector units including Aeronautical Development Agency, Combat Vehicles R&D Establishment, Instrument Research & Development Establishment, Research Center Imarat, Naval Science & Technological Laboratory, Defense Bio-Engineering and Electro Medical Laboratory, Bharat Electronics Ltd and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.
