L&T bags $94 mn substation order in UAE

Mumbai: India's leading engineering and construction firm Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) has bagged a $94.33 million order from the Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority for the construction of six major electrical substations. According to the contract, L&T will supply and install primary substations in the Al Ain sector of Abu Dhabi. The project will include design and construction of the building and over 120 km of 33kv cabling, the company said in a statement Wednesday. The substations at Al Mutaredh, Al Mezyad south, Al Dhaher south, New Al Qua'a, Al Qattara and Civic Centre will reinforce the region's power distribution network and help meet the increased demands for power in the region. It will be completed within 18 months.
