LIC to start services in Africa, NZ, Caribbean

NEW DELHI: IndiaÂ’s biggest insurer by market share, state owned Life Insurance Corporation would launch its services in Africa, New Zealand and Caribbean countries to exploit the huge NRI population there. Company chairman R.N. Bhardwaj said the company was looking at starting its services in Madagascar and Botswana in Africa, New Zealand and Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean island. He also said to begin with the company is looking at launching its services in West Asia that has a sizeable Indian population. LICÂ’s Nepal and Sri Lanka operations were doing well, Bhardwaj said.
