Intel says no decision yet on plant in India

MUMBAI: The president of Intel India , the local subsidiary of the world's largest computer chip maker, said on Thursday no decision had yet been made on building a plant in India. "From our point of view, nothing has changed. We're still in the evaluation process," Ketan Sampat said on the sidelines of a financial technology conference. Earlier this week, Indian Communications Minister Dayanidhi Maran had said Intel planned to spend up to $400 million on a chip assembly and testing plant in India. It already has a development center in Bangalore. "Several country locations are being evaluated for future manufacturing sites," Sampat said. "India's on that list, but Intel has not made a decision."
