India's exports up 33 percent

NEW DELHI:India's January exports grew 33 percent from a year earlier improving from December due to strong demand from markets like United States and Europe, government data released today said. Exports grew to $6.72 billion in January compared with $5.04 billion a year ago. The latest export growth compares with nearly 15 percent in the year through December, 26 percent growth in November, 9.5 percent in October and 17 percent in September. India's exports between April and January to March 2005 rose 26 percent to $60.75 billion from $48.39 billion a year earlier.
