India's second ISB to be setup in Haryana

New Delhi: Rajat Gupta, the former CEO of McKinsey & Company and his team are planning to set up the country's second Indian School of Business (ISB) in Haryana. The new school could either be an extension of ISB or can have a new name. The former was started in Hyderabad in December 1999, spread over an area of 260 acres of land at a cost of around 100 crores and is one of the famous business schools in India. Meanwhile the technical education department of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) is planning an education city in Sonepet, but they declined to comment on setting up an ISB there. The official also said, that they have no plans to allot land at subsidized rates or for free to any education body. Gupta and his team has already started talks with the world's most excellent business schools like the London Business School, The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University for academic tie-up with the new school. According to the sources, funds for setting up the new ISB is a not a problem and the donors who funded the previous ISB are ready to extend help for the new project. "We are also looking for new partners," added the sources. The courses offered in ISB are postgraduate programmes in management, Master of Business Administration degree, and postdoctoral programmes. The members on the board of education of ISB are Anil Ambani, Rahul Bajaj, Yogi Deveshwar, Adi Godrej, KV Kamath and Uday Kotak, the big shots in the international business arena. The average domestic salary offered to ISB graduates this year was Rs 15 lakh with the highest domestic offer being Rs 43 lakh. The average international salary was 54 lakh the highest being 1crore.
