Indians Who Run Top B-Schools in U.S.

Bangalore: An increasing number of Indian-born professors are heading top B-schools in the U.S., reports Ishani Duttagupta of the ET Bureau. Moreover, majority of these professors hail from the IITs.

1) Soumitra Dutta -

Soumitra Dutta is currently the Professor of Business and Technology at INSEAD and Chaired Professor of Business and Technology at Roland Berger. He will be appointed the Dean at the Cornell University on July 1 of this year. He bagged an M.sc. degree from Business Administration and a PhD in computer science from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a Faculty Director of elab@INSEAD, which has collaborations with Cisco, Intel, SAP and Morgan Stanley. Dutta engages in developing strategies in innovation and technology, at both national and organizational levels.  His area of interest is working with elab projects in the field of IT. He has been the author and co-author of many books, such as - “Throwing Sheep in the Boardroom: How Online Social Networking Will Transform Your Life, Work and World,” “Innovating at the Top: How Global CEOs Drive Innovation for Growth and Profit” and “The Global Information Technology Report.”  At the seminar of Connected Speakers he said how the social networking sites are changing the world, both in the personal and professional spheres. He is an active participant in policy making, both at the national and international level. Dutta is a member of the Advisory Committee for ICT for the Government of Qatar. He is a member of Steering Committee of eBSN and the Chairman of the European Commission's Europe Innova. According to Dutta, "The IIT system is about the best people" and "While the professors and faculty members, who helped in creating the foundation for research, innovation and entrepreneurship, remain an important part of my life, the competition with peers always motivated me to do better."
