Indian real estate developers clinch mega deals in UK, Dubai

NEW DELHI: Deals worth over 1.5 billion ($32.97 million) were clinched by 72 Indian real estate developers during two exhibitions held in London and Dubai. Organised by the Confederation of Real Estate Developer of India (CREDAI) in association with the Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry (MCHI), the 'Property 2004' mega real estate exhibitions in Britain and the United Arab Emirates attracted over 11,500 non-resident Indians, according to an official statement Wednesday. "The exhibitions recorded spot bookings worth over 280 million ($6 million) and an additional 1.45 billion worth of business is expected from both London and Dubai in the coming months," said CREDAI. "The magnitude of business dealings during the exhibition surpassed our expectations," said Kumar Gera, president of CREDAI. Besides the 72 real estate developers from India, eight housing finance bodies participated in the exhibition that was organised in London May 28-30, and in Dubai, June 2-4.
