Indian datacenter service to be $1.52 Billion market
New Delhi: Indian data center service market is likely to grow at a CAGR of 18 percent to $1.52 billion by the end of 2009. The third party data center services market is expected to grow at 27 percent to become a nearly $50 Million industry by 2012, according to IDC. An IDC statement also said that the domestic data centre services market is poised to witness rapid growth in the coming years. "The data centre value proposition assumes greater significance as data centers become the nerve centers of enterprises in an increasingly challenging economic environment," IDC pointed out. "With the Indian economy expected to grow at a slower rate, consolidation, optimization and productivity will be the key areas of focus for enterprise managements in the near future. Captive data centers will undergo optimization and aim to leverage the existing assets, while third party data centers will experience a short-term supply glut," mentioned Praveen Sengar, Senior Manager, Software & Services and Industry Verticals Research, IDC India.
