Indian IT CEOs to Discuss Hi-Tech Future
Bangalore: The CEOs of India's top IT companies are moving back to the university and the list of classmates has everybody- from scientists to entrepreneurs to actors. The list includes some big names like Silicon Valley entrepreneurs like Reid Hoffman, founder of LinkedIn, actor Tom Hanks, Avatar director James Cameron, reports The Economic Times. Kris Gopalakrishnan, Vineet Nayar and S Ramadorai, the CEOs of Infosys, HCL Technologies and TCS respectively, will spend two-and-a-half day in Los Angeles, in March, in order to participate in a unique programme run by an educational institution called Singular University (SU). SU says the idea behind this programme is to teach them about 'advances in exponential technologies'. Gopalakrishnan, Co-founder and Co-Chairman of Infosys said, "They (SU) look at really leading-edge technologies that will impact human beings in the next five or 10 years. So, it is an interesting opportunity to learn, and maybe come back and implement some of the learning at Infosys." According to Vivek Wadhwa of Singularity University, Rahul Gandhi and Ratan Tata were too keen to attend the programme, but will be unable to make. Suresh Prabhu, former Union Minister of India will be attending the programme. Wadhwa, Vice-President of Academics and Innovation, said, "We are planting the seeds in the minds of great people, and encouraging them to go out into the world and solve problems."
