India fourth largest IT storage market

MUMBAI: India has emerged as the fourth largest IT storage market in the Asia Pacific with sales aggregating $30.01 million in unit shipments and spending terms in April-June 2005, research firm Gartner said. It said the Indian market totaled $30.01 million in the second quarter of the current year. Hewlett-Packard continued to lead the storage market in India with a 22 percent share of revenues, followed by EMC with 19.6 percent and IBM with 18.1 percent market share, it said. Telecom, banking and CSI were the main drivers for storage in India with 32 percent, 19 per cent and 15 percent share of revenues respectively, it said.
