India Post to get a makeover

New Delhi: The country's postal department India Post will have a new logo from Tuesday as part of a makeover plan that aims to revitalise the post office network in the country, an official statement said here Monday. Minister of Communications and IT A. Raja will launch the new corporate logo for the postal department. The department has also launched a series of fully upgraded post offices under Project Arrow makeover plan in rural areas, the statement said. "These new age post offices are meant to serve as a window to the world for the common men by focusing on their needs," it added. By the end of the current year, 500 such post offices will be launched across the country. Apart from the new logo and a new slogan, designing of exteriors and interiors, upgradation of computer hardware and software, improvement in delivery of services and upgradation in connectivity are the main features of the Project Arrow. The post offices in rural areas will henceforth be a single window facility for banking, money remittance, transmission and delivery of information.
