Idea cellular registers 65 pc profit

Mumbai: Idea Cellular posted 65.6 per cent increase in the consolidated net profit for the fourth quarter of the fiscal, with profits amounting to $46.04 million. Total revenues were increased by 54.9 percent at $319.28 million, while EBITDA rose 42.3 percent to $111.66. According to the company, the consolidated net profit rose by 137 percent to $119.76 million for the fiscal ended March 31. Annual revenues rose by 47.6 percent to $1050.71, as the subscriber base rose by 90 percent. During the year, the subscribers of the company increased by 189 percent higher at over 6.6 million. According to the statement, the company is in a process of merging its subsidiaries. ($1=42)
