IT, ITES largest job creators in India

BANGALORE: The IT, ITES industry was the largest employers in the country generating 44% of the job advertisement since last month, a data by industry body said.
A data released by ASSOCHAM Eco Pulse (AEP) said of the total 7,558 job positions in newspapers and internet, 3,391 was for white collared IT, ITES jobs.
The AEP data suggested that the ITES is set for a huge expansion over the next few years. While Mumbai based companies were the biggest advertisers, Delhi and Bangalore based companies followed closely at second and third places.
The Indian BPO sector is set to grow from $4 billion to $15.5 billion by 2008. Inherent cost advantage, large pool of skilled manpower and availability of domain expertise will remain the key drivers for the growth, the data said.
