IRMC appoints Rakesh Kumar Executive VP, COO

NEW YORK: Rakesh Kumar, the founding president of Global Vantedge, Inc., one of the first offshore collections companies started in India, has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of Global Solutions for IntelliRisk Management Corporation (IRMC), a premier provider of customer management solutions specializing in collections, accounts receivable management, and customer retention services. "Offshore collections and customer services are the new frontier in the industry, and IRMC aims to play a major role in that arena," said Vikas Kapoor, President and CEO. "And no one knows the offshore world better than outsourcing pioneer Rakesh Kumar, who is a true leader in building the offshore collections business. He will be invaluable in helping us build our global footprint and bring a high level of service and performance to our clients on a global basis." Kumar was the founding president of Global Vantedge, a full-service collections company headquartered in San Francisco with operations in Gurgaon, India. Prior to Global Vantedge, Kumar was a senior executive with GE Capital International Services in India, where he set up the first call center operations outside the United States and subsequently managed a business center with more than 5,000 employees. "Collections and client services are increasingly going offshore, but need a tremendous amount of nurturing in order to deliver high quality and high performance for customers," said Kumar. "The global footprint we aim to build in India and the Philippines and, later on, the Caribbean, will be developed as a seamless part of our entire service capability for our clients. We will only bring business abroad if it is serviced by the appropriate level of skill and makes economic sense." IRMC's nearshore and offshore footprint also includes a call center in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. In addition to his collections and call center expertise, Kumar also has extensive professional experience in the financial services industry, having worked for ABN Amro in the Middle East and Bank of America in India.
