The students getting back from their three months internships are flooded with pre-placement offers (PPO). At IIM Kolkata, five students have already been offered the positions as associates in investment banks. We are expecting the number of PPO's to grow at least by 20 percent. "Already a number of offers have been made from every area, right from investment banking and consulting to marketing and IT," says Tejaswini, placement co-ordinater at IIM Kolkata. The offers are from Morgan Stanley, Mc.Kinsey, Bain consulting, BCG to HLL,TAS and JP Morgan Chase. While most students are wary about disclosing the pay packets, the sources say that it is better than last year. The trend towards global placements is also continuing, according to an IIMA representative.
