IIFT ties up with Hughes

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), a premier management institute in the country, has partnered with Hughes Escorts Communications Limited (HECL) to offer Executive Masters in International Business (EMIB) over Hughes DirecWay Global Education platform. IIFT will deliver the EMIB program to 200 working executives across 28 cities in the country. The program will cost 1,39,500/- The EMIB program is a specialized management degree that will fulfill the spiraling demand for international management graduates in India. The program covering specialized courses in the field of International Business will be offered in three semesters spread over 18 months. The curriculum is an appropriate blend of concepts, tools and techniques and business practices in an international framework. The beginning of the program will comprise one week of concentrated classroom study at IIFT campus, followed by classes on Sundays in the DirecWay classrooms across India. Admission to EMIB program is open to working managers and self-employed individual with post-graduate degree/engineering degree or equivalent from any recognized university or institution with three years of managerial work experience, alternately, graduation from a recognized university with five years of managerial work experience. "With more and more Indian companies looking at global markets, there is a growing demand from Corporate India for managers who not only understand the prerequisites of marketing but also understand the nuances of global markets. This is where programmes offered by IIFT play a critical role in providing managers the skills and understanding to take on the challenges posed by operating in foreign markets", said Prabir Sengupta, Director, IIFT. "Our partnership with Hughes will allow us to offer this opportunity to a wider set of middle and senior level executives across India", he added. "Over the last four decades, IIFT has aimed at developing a right blend of theory and practice of International Business which has contributed in a surge of demand for IIFT professionals", added Mr. Sengupta. The DirecWay Global Education platform will allow IIFT to reach out to a huge pool of working professionals who are looking to upgrade their skills but do not have the flexibility of either taking up a full time programme by giving up their current profession or relocating to the city for the same.
