IBM goes the SMB way globally

IBM is seeking to build on its success in the SMB market globally, with an emphasis on the emerging markets like India, Russia and China with an expanding portfolio of products and services. Steve Solazzo, general manager of IBM’s 7000 strong global mid market business informed that he hoped to continues the engine of growth for IBM financially,” We are looking at growth in tow ways – one is be capturing the emerging markets like India, Russia and China as they expand and a horizontal growth by expanding our portfolio”. The IT major launched a $ 100 million global drive called Express Track last month which targets increased mid-market sales of IBM technology solutions through IBM’s primary partners SMB channel, IBM Business partners. The company offers industry solutions like retail, digital imaging solution for radiologists, all in one suite for manufacturing, financial sector etc. “While hardware business will continue to grow, we want to focus further on services in both business and IT,” said Solazzo. And as for the future they are even looking for signing up new partners as per information by Ganesh Margabandhu, director, global mid market business. The growth will be in phases with the first phase opening offices in 14 cities some of them are Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Bubhaneshwar, Pune, Surat, Coimbatore, Lucknow and Nagpur in the coming months.
