Hutchison Essar plans $100-M investment

NEW DELHI: The Indian mobile unit of Hong Kong's Hutchison Whampoa group, the nation's third largest mobile services firm, will invest more than $100 million to roll out services in the Punjab circle, Hutchison Essar said on Tuesday. The company, which plans an IPO, offers wireless services based on the dominant Global Standard for Mobile (GSM) communication platform to more than six million customers in India's booming mobile industry.
