Huawei India gets new COO

BANGALORE:Chinese telecom maker Huawei Technologies has appointed George Huang as its new Chief Operating Officer for its India R&D hub, the biggest of Huawei outside China. George will drive Huawei's India center to develop core telecom platforms, products and end-to-end solutions, besides setting up Huawei's R&D campus in Bangalore. Huawei has committed $100 million investment in India for the campus and plans to reach a total workforce of 2,000 by 2007, as against the current strength of 800 software professionals. George was earlier the Chief Operating Officer of Huawei Institute, another R&D center of Huawei in Nanjing city, China, a Huawei statement said.
