Gujarat beams CIT event

AHMEDABAD: The Confederation of Indian Industry yesterday in Ahmedabad organized GujaratÂ’s premier communication and information technology event: CIT 2005.
To showcase the CIT development in the state, CII in partnership with the Dept of Science & Technology, Government of Gujarat and Gujarat Informatics is organizing a three-day summit from 4-6 February. The summit, which consists of a two-day conference and a three-day exhibition, will run parallel under the theme of “Harnessing CIT for Enterprise and Socio Economic Development.”
Special focus on Gujarat’s IT sector and its growing e-readiness would be the underlying motif. Gujarat has been placed in the category of “Aspiring leaders in IT,” and it appears amongst the top 8 states in terms of network learning and amongst the top 4 states in E-governance. Gujarat State Wide Area Network (GSWAN) is considered to be the most exclusive in India.
CIT 2005 is focused on providing a comprehensive source of intelligence on the latest in information and technology. It aims is to create a networking ground to facilitate the confluence of the technology providers and the users of the technology for meaningful business relationships. CIT 2005 is expected to explore new frontiers in ICT and communication sector, to help ICT penetrate to the end user to reap its benefit, said the event organizers.
Objective of the event is to showcase the use of CIT in Improving lifestyle, Efficient Governance, Delivering better services, Broader education, Social and environment development, IT Service & Solution Providers, IT Hardware and Peripherals, Software Solutions and applications, IT enabled companies, Telecom, Communications Products & Services, Networking – LAN / WAN / Wi-Fi, Data Security & Services, Internet & Web Service Providers, Content Development, Graphics, Animations and Publishing and IT Infrastructure.
Participants at the event are likely to include CEOs, COOs, CIOs, CTOs and IT Heads of Manufacturing companies, senior personnel from Banking & Financial Services, Government & Policy makers, IT Professionals, Software Developers, Venture Capitalist, Educational Institutions, Media & Entertainment Professionals, Engineers and Project Managers.
