Governor of California honors Gurminder Singh

Los Angeles: Recently on the occasion of the India's Republic Day on January 26th, 2007, the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, honored Gurminder Singh, Co-Chairman of the Green Technology Institute. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in honoring Gurminder Singh indicated the various challengers ahead for California, America and its growing partnership with a energy hungry developing world. The governor is leading the way to announce his support for alternative energy, biofuels, green and environmental technologies to counter the threat of global warming and increases in greenhouse gases by implementing elements of the Kyoto Protocol Treaty by introducing his own Californian strategy for managing greenhouse and carbon emissions. "If California were a nation, it would be among the 10 largest sources of greenhouse gas pollution worldwide, according to the Natural Resources Defense Council, an environmental advocacy group. So the Republican governor signed an executive order setting ambitious new greenhouse-gas emission reduction targets for the state. They would reduce California's greenhouse-gas emissions to 2000 levels by 2010, to 1990 levels by 2020, and to 80 percent below 1990 levels by 2050." The Governor added, "Gurminder Singh and the Green Technology Institute have undertaken the hard work over the last few years to develop a "Going Green Strategy" by assisting emerging US-based green businesses develop their overall strategy to expand their abilities to attract capital, market their products and services to municipalities in the US and explore global business opportunities worldwide. Due to his efforts US businesses are winning multi-million dollar contracts abroad to produce ethanol, implement renewable energy and biomass-based co-generation plants. Singh's vision, effort and assistance to Californian green businesses is greatly appreciated as it's leading to the creation of new revenues and jobs for the great State of California today and for the rest of the country tomorrow.
