Goldstone Tele plans venture into power sector

HYDERABAD: Goldstone Teleservices Ltd, the telecom products company, has firmed up its plans to diversify into products for the power sector, according to agencies report. The company had earlier forayed into the IT-enabled services (ITES) space by establishing a call contact center. M. Gopalakrishna, chairman of Goldstone Teleservices Ltd, said that while the company diversification process is underway, the call center project is set to go live in October. The company is also all set a polymer insulator project that will replace ceramic and porcelain insulators. The company is exploring new streams to minimize the pressure on telecom-related products. Goldstone also plans to set up a manufacturing facility for polymer insulators at Cherlapally near Hyderabad. Goldstone would invest Rs 15 crore and have 200 people in the Hyderabad call center, report agencies.
