NEW DELHI: Some 300 lawyers and jurists from across the world are meeting in the Indian capital to discuss business law in the age of e-governance and the effects of the WTO agreement on developing nations, the organisers said. This is the first time India will host the LAWASIA Business Conference. The three-day meet begins on January 17. Some 70 countries from the Asia-Pacific region and the U.S. are members of LAWASIA, a global body of lawyers and jurists with headquarters in Australia. Conference chairman P.H. Parekh said: "In India we have been discussing a lot on infrastructure development and privatisation. We will get to see how the world is thinking on these issues." The other aspects to be discussed extensively are corporate governance and WTO legislations. The conference will also discuss global terrorism, environmental laws and trans-border disputes.
