Bangalore: Internet security provider, Check Point has been positioned in the Leaders quadrant in Gartner's recent Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Network Firewalls. The Leaders quadrant contains a mix of large and midsize vendors, with the common element of making products that are built for enterprise requirements. Describing companies in the Leaders Quadrant, Gartner said, "The requirements for being in the quadrant include a wide range of models, support for virtualization and virtual LANs, and a management and reporting capability that is designed for complex and high-volume environments, such as multitier administration and rules/policy minimization." Apart from that, the research firm also pinpoints that NGFW capability is an important element as enterprises move away from having dedicated IPS appliances at their perimeter and remote locations Check Point has innovated on its Application Intelligence, Malicious Code Protection, and the industry's modular security management plug-in architecture."Firewalls have evolved from access control devices between networks into advanced multi-function gateways providing information protection from the perimeter to data centers, and now also in the cloud," said Bhaskar Bhakthavastsalu, Country Manager, Indian and SAARC, Checkpoint. The company’s firewall security products provide security applications like IPSec and SSL VPN remote access, anti-virus, anti-spam and web filtering.
