GTL appoints Michael Clark as CEO

MUMBAI: Manoj Tirodkar, Chairman and Managing Director of GTL, the leading Network Engineering and IT services Company, has announced the appointment of Dr. Michael Clark as the Chief Executive Officer. Dr Clark, well-known to Indian Business Leaders and senior government officials for his six-year stint as Executive Director of the prestigious U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC), will take over the top business management position at GTL with effect from July 3, 2004. Dr Clark graduated with honors from Harvard University. He holds a Master's degree in International Economics & Latin American Studies and a PhD in International Relations - both from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), USA. “With the signing of Michael Clark,” Mr.Tirodkar said, “GTL crosses another important milestone in its commitment to professionalize operations and strengthen the company's ability to compete globally as a principal Network Engineering and IT Services Company.” Welcoming him, Mr.Tirodkar added, “Michael Clarke brings to the company high-level associations with more than 100 leading American companies and the broad perspective that goes with more than twenty-five years experience in international relations and policy. By virtue of this background, he has demonstrated time and again that he knows how to get things done, in a variety of settings.” “Leading GTL's 3,500 plus employees who serve clients from several locations across the globe will present interesting and exciting challenges.” Michael Clark said today. He further added, “The solid core of a great company already exists and has been measurably strengthened through actions taken by the CMD and Board of Directors in the past two years.
