New Delhi: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) Thursday approved two schemes with a total outlay of 4.29 billion to build infrastructure to boost export of agricultural produce. The CCEA sanctioned an outlay of 2.29 billion for the implementation of the scheme for infrastructure development under the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (Apeda), a government spokesperson told reporters. An outlay of 2 billion has been earmarked for implementation for transport assistance for the body. "A comprehensive study will be conducted, after two years, to evaluate the impact of these two schemes and to reformulate the same if needed," the spokesperson added. The thrust of the support by APEDA under Infrastructure Development Scheme is on building infrastructure to facilitate export of agri produce. The interventions to be made by APEDA during the 11th Five-Year Plan under the scheme are expected to increase exports.
