FINO, PNB tie-up for smart cards

Coimbatore: Mumbai-based FINO (Financial Information Network and Operations, a technology solutions provider and multi-bank promoted company plans to partner with Punjab National Bank for rolling out smart cards for the rural masses in Rajasthan. Announcing the tie-up, FINO has in a release said that it would enable PNB's zero-balance savings account customers carry out transactions by providing FINO smart cards and POT (Point of Transaction) devices. The project is aimed at catering to PNB?s rural masses across the country. Using cutting edge technologies like Smart cards, Biometrics and a basket of support services, FINO enables Financial Institutions to conceptualize, develop and operationalize projects for Financial Inclusion and support sector initiatives such as General Credit cards (GCC) and Kisan credit cards (KCC) aimed at enabling the rural and remotest un-banked parts of the country to enjoy the benefits of formal financial products and services.
