Emirates promotes new route to Florida's travel industry

Dubai: Leading up to Emirates' launch of business in Houston, Texas, the airline recently hosted the Florida leg of its travelling roadshow, promoting the airline to the travel industry across America's south and southeast. The new non-stop service between Houston and Dubai will start 3rd December, operating three times a week and increasing to a daily service from 1st February 2008. Emirates Airlines will also start its six-flights-a-week service to Ahmedabad in western India from Oct 28, senior officials have said. The event was the airline's second roadshow in the United States to support the launch of its Houston service - the first was held in Houston on 29th August and another one is scheduled for Dallas on 28th September. The travelling roadshow features a multi-media presentation about Dubai and Emirates and a viewing gallery where guests have an opportunity to sit in the Boeing 777-200LR First Class private suite and view a model of the Emirates' world renowned Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa. Emirates will operate the technologically-advanced Boeing 777-200LR, the latest addition to its expanding fleet of over 100 wide-bodied aircraft, on the Dubai-Houston route. Emirates currently employs over 8,000 cabin crew representing more than 100 nationalities. In total Emirates employs over 200 Americans within the entire group of which there are 114 American flight crew. By the end of this year, Emirates' new non-stop services from Dubai will include Venice, Newcastle, Sao Paulo, Toronto and Ahmedabad.
