Bangalore: Elliptical Mobile Solutions (EMS) has launched its full range of Data Center-in-a-Box products that will provide over 50 percent savings in data center cooling costs. With this technology, users will be able to cut down their overall energy consumption, claims EMS. The costs to plan, build and implement a new facility are cut down by Micro-Modular Data Centers (MMDC) up to 80 percent as compared to Traditional Data Center (TDC), said Don Kennedy, Senior VP International Sales. MMDC have also reduced cooling and power consumption costs by over 50 percent, he added. In India, the total data center capacity is likely to grow 31 percent from 2007 to 2012, reaching 5.1 million square feet, according to Gartner. According to Sharad Srivastava of Grassroots Channels, due to rising security concerns of both data security and physical security, companies prefer their own data centers and with EMS MMDC, it has become possible.
