PUNE: The Pune-based 20 billion Cummins India Limited, a solution provider in the power generation industry, Wednesday launched emission complaint N14 series of engines in the Indian market. "Available in 225 to 380 KVA for power generation and up to 525 HP for industrial application, the N14 engine meets emission regulation and gives more power and better fuel economy," said Anant Talaulicar, joint managing director of Cummins. The company has invested 150 million to ramp up production plans for the engines, he said, adding the N14 series of engines would also be available in very low height horizontal version for railway applications. Talaulicar said the company's recently launched 140-200 KVA and 150-300 HP 'C' series engines and the 'X' series gensets of 15, 20 and 25 KVA had received positive response from the market. The 'C' and 'N14' series of engines are manufactured globally by Cummins for automotive, power generation and off-highway applications markets. Talaulicar said the engines had been customised to meet the Indian market demands and that they were fuel efficient, compact and durable. The products have smaller footprints and lower engine noise levels. Set up in Pune in 1962, Cummins is the country's largest manufacturer of diesel engines. The engine technology leader has produced more than 167,000 engines from its state-of-the-art manufacturing plants here.
