New Delhi: The Delhi High Court Tuesday asked Sarvana Bhawan - a popular south Indian restaurant in Connaught Circus - to vacate the premises as their lease agreement expired in September last year. Justice S.N. Dhingra allowed the plea of Subhash Chander Gupta, the owner of P-15 premises in Connaught Circus, for possession of his property after the Thanigai Murugan Restaurant (Pvt) Ltd, which runs the chain of Sarvana Bhawan restaurants, failed to come to an agreement with Gupta on the rent for the premises. Due to the disagreement, the lease deed for the premises could not be renewed since September last year. The lease was signed in December 2004 between the parties for five years, which expired Sep 30, 2008 last year. Thereafter, the parties could not arrive at an agreement and no lease was executed and registered.
