The new subsidiary, Compulink Europe Limited will be headed by Michael Song, a consultant with over a decades experience in areas like strategy, enterprise process management and software quality improvement and assessments. "This operation fits in with our global footprint, suits our customers and will help us create a channel for products and services in the European market," said Compulink Systems CEO, Vishwas Mahajan. "This is a key component of our strategy of building a global business partner channel and we will develop this network in West Europe and Nordic countries," he explained. Compulink is a software and services company engaged in developing industry specific products. The company's flagship product ProjectByNet has an installed base of more than 20,000 customers. The company has projected revenues between Rs 18 crore to Rs 20 crore for the year including the European operations and plans to achieve the Rs 50 crore mark by the year 2007. Even as the US market figured heavily in the international plans of the company, Mahajan maintained that they would focus on gaining better acceptance in the European market before venturing out in the US. "The US market is an expensive and brutal market," he stressed. According to him, the company's current strategy is to tap this market through the business alliance partners such as Wipro, Accenture, Patni and Delloitte. After the initial three months, the company plans to take stock of its position before making any additional plans for US. The company recently launched its next generation multilingual tool of its flagship product that has been installed at ST MicroElectronics and NCS. This is the Version 4 of the product offers endless multilingual options and the architecture will be showcased at the Microsoft International Conference at Toronto soon. Besides Europe, the company is also targeting the Asian market. "Currently we are catering to this market through our Indian operations. We already have installations in Hong Kong and Singapore," Mahajan said.
