BANGALORE : CommScope, one of the leading names in cable and connectivity solutions, is stepping up its focus in India . Having recently acquired the popular Systimax brand of cabling solutions from Avaya, CommScope said it plans to concentrate on the enterprise segment with renewed vigour. Speaking at a press meet here on Monday, the company’s executive vice president and general manager, enterprise solutions, Randall W Crenshaw, said: "India is one of the key markets for the company. Through the newly created subsidiary Systimax, CommScope has positioned itself as an end to end solutions provider.” The Indian structured cable market is around Rs 200 crore. Avaya’s market leadership in this space, gives CommScope’s an advantage over competitors like Tyco, Molex and numerous others, he added. Crenshaw said the possibility of setting up of a back office for BPO in India looks attractive. There are, however, no immediate plans to invest in a captive BPO centre. Another software development company in India , he said, is currently providing such services to CommScope. The acquisition of Avaya’s connectivity solutions business has made CommScope a 4,500 employee company with revenues of over $1 billion. The company offers coaxial cable for broadband applications like cable television and video, high frequency cables and components that connect wireless antennae to their transmitters and copper, fibre cables and connectivity solutions for linking computers and communication devices in an corporate environment.
