Cognizant in pact with Microsoft to migrate data into .Net

CHENNAI: Cognizant Technology Solutions said on Thursday it had joined Microsoft Corp's mainframe migration alliance to help customers seamlessly migrate critical data and systems to Microsoft.Net-based systems.
Under the agreement, Cognizant becomes one of the early members of Microsoft's `Mainframe Migration Alliance', said vice-president of Cognizant's Advanced Solutions Group Gajen Kandiah, in a statement.
"MMA brings together technology and system integrators to move applications in ageing legacy environments to the more modern and flexible Microsoft Windows Server platform and Microsoft.Net," he said.
Mainframe migration initiative project manager, Microsoft Corp, Spyros Sakellariadis said the alliance with Cognizant provided a comprehensive response to enterprises seeking to streamline their technology infrastructure with changing business priorities.
