Ciber Inc. (NYSE:CBR) and iGATE Global Solutions Ltd (IGS) Wednesday announced an India-based joint venture that will offer software services to global clients.

BANGALORE: The joint venture, named Ciber India Pvt Ltd of which Ciber will be the majority owner, will provide clients with immediate access to an enhanced, cost-effective and high-quality delivery option. Ciber and its subsidiaries provide IT consulting and other services to Fortune 500 and middle market companies, as well as public sector clients. With three decades of strong and established client relationships across multiple industry segments, Ciber offers a robust front-end operation to the joint venture. iGATE Global Solutions, formerly Mascot Systems Ltd, a subsidiary of iGATE Corporation (Nasdaq:IGTE), is a leading global offshore IT services company based in Bangalore, India. With six offshore development centers in Asia and more than 3,000 employees around the world, IGS brings an extremely strong and mature offshore delivery capability to the new organization. The joint venture will provide Ciber with an ownership position in an offshore delivery option that it has been offering to its customers. IGS will benefit from increased business through an extended client base and access to a large-scale organization. "We are excited to formalize our relationship with iGATE Global Solutions. CIBER and IGS have already successfully worked together for over a year. IGS's quality of delivery and breadth of services have enabled CIBER to deliver cost-effective applications to our clients. Also, IGS has a far greater depth of resources and experience than a start-up or small acquisition could ever accomplish. Our confidence in establishing this alliance was further enhanced by IGS's high quality management team and superior delivery methodologies and processes," said Mac Slingerlend, CIBER's President and Chief Executive Officer. Through this joint venture, Ciber adds another formalized delivery option to its portfolio that can help clients in building, integrating and supporting their mission-critical applications, delivering cost-effective solutions with established quality standards using IGS's development methodologies. IGS is assessed at CMM Level 5, the highest level attainable of the Software Engineering Institute's Capability Maturity Model. "Leading companies are taking a global approach to IT sourcing, outsourcing work to the location that makes the most sense for the task at hand. Forward-thinking CIOs are asking how to get the best of both worlds -- the continuity of current external service providers with offshore talent and labor advantages," said Ed Longo, Ciber's Chief Operating Officer. "Ciber already has affordable pricing, a great reputation for delivery and long-term client relationships. Combining our assets with iGATE Global Solutions, an excellent offshore firm, further enhances our one-stop shopping for IT value propositions by offering 'hybrid solutions' to U.S. clients looking for full or partial offshore alternatives." "We have already demonstrated we can work well together. CIBER is a great partner and formalizing our relationship, via this joint venture, is a step forward towards leveraging our synergistic strengths for greater success. Together, we make for an extremely competitive and compelling value proposition to potential customers," said Sunil Wadhwani, Chairman of iGATE Global Solutions. The joint venture will give IGS the ability to serve Ciber's extended clientele that includes prestigious global corporations across various industry segments such as Communications, Financial Services, Healthcare, Higher Education, Manufacturing, Entertainment and Technology.
