Bangalore: Do celebrities sell states, or being a states’ ambassador buys them good image? This discussion will never end as different experts have different point of view. The recent announcement of Mamata Banerjee to make Shah Rukh Khan the new and first even brand ambassador of West Bengal has raised the question again.

Shah Rukh Khan has been an ambassador for many products such as Fair & Lovely, Hyundai i10, and Pepsodent while he was connected to West Bengal only through Knight Riders till now. But he is now officially the face of West Bengal.

SRK says, “Kolkata, West Bengal is very close to my heart, apart from the fact that we have a team there. Whenever I have gone there, even to perform...the people love you there. When you are a brand ambassador for anything, any of the products or even a leading man for a film or a producer, I think you have a lot of responsibility. Apart from the fact that we have fun, crack jokes and have a sense of humour, whatever I do, I do it with a sense of responsibility”.
