CII's Tarun Das gets award for boosting India-US trade

NEW DELHI: Tarun Das, director general of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), has been honoured by the US-India Business Council for boosting trade relations between the two countries. The Robert Dean Blackwill Award was presented to Das Tuesday in Washington in recognition of his contribution to developing a new mutually supportive relationship between India and the US, said a CII statement. Das received the award from Rajat Kumar Gupta, chairman of the US-India Business Council and senior partner (worldwide) of global management consultancy major McKinsey and Company. The CII official received the award along with Kenneth Juster, under secretary of commerce and industry in the US Department of Commerce. "The Robert Blackwill award is presented to individuals who have made an extraordinary contribution towards developing a new, mutually supportive relationship between India and US," said the statement.
