CII to organise conference on emerging trends in finance

Chennai: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) announced Tuesday that it will organise a two-day conference in Chennai June 20-21 focusing on the recent trends and challenges in finance sector. The India Finance Forum (TIFF)-2008 will be held on the theme of "Aspiring for Growth and Managing Risk", said TIFF chairman L. Ganesh. Addressing the media here, he said the Indian business world has been changing significantly over the last two years and integrating fast into the global scenario. "Managing risk today is totally a new game and this is accentuated by periodical volatility in markets," Ganesh added. The conference will have debates on the role of private equity and venture capital, emerging merger and acquisition trends, the impact of Indian companies going global, risk capital from the perspective of shareholder, and commodity and interest risk management. There will be three case studies featuring Wipro, Sanmar Group and Murugappa Group to analyse the trends of Indian companies going global. T.T. Srinivasaraghavan, co-chairman of TIFF, said in the present context, "there is a need to evolve new financing models to support growth and to manage risks. TIFF-2008 would present key insights on some of these issues".
