New Delhi: A nine-,member delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) left for the US Monday night on a three-day visit in an annual exercise to strengthen bilateral ties. The main thrust of the mission would be to focus on doubling Indian investments in the US in the next few years. "Today, Indian investments in the US stand at around $4 billion and the scope from India is enormous," CII president K.V.Kamath said. "The annual visit of the CII will strive to explore how this could be doubled in the next few years." The delegation is led by Kamath and is a part of the CII "CEOs' Mission to the US" to augment economic and commercial cooperation between the two nations. Trade between the two countries has increased approximately 190 percent from $14.4 billion in 2002 to $41.6 Billion in 2007, with an increased investment flow on both sides.
