CII signs pact with 4 EU textile bodies

NEW DELHI: The Confederation of Indian Industry has tied up with four European industry organizations in the textiles and apparel sector to boost Indian textile exports to the European Union.
The European cooperation partners of the CII are the Confederation of the German Textile and Fashion Industry, the British Apparel and Textile Confederation, the Union des Industries Textiles, France, and the Hungarian Apparel Manufacturers Association.
The textile industry is one of the pillars of the EU economy and with the dismantling of quotas from January this year, India has emerged as a leading supplier of textiles to world markets, including the EU. CII is also looking towards future collaborations for Indian players with EU member countries and German companies in particular.
