CA extends support for Open Source

New York: CA has extended its Web access security technology to include support for Web applications and Web services hosted on JBoss Enterprise Middleware. CA SiteMinder and CA SOA Security Manager offer organizations secure access management for Web applications and services deployed on JBoss Enterprise Middleware, including JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, JBoss Enterprise Portal Platform, and JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform. "Open source middleware adoption is growing and more organizations are deploying their mission-critical applications on JBoss Enterprise Middleware," said Stephen Hess, Senior Director of Product Management, Middleware, Red Hat. "The need for enterprise-class security for Web applications and Web services grows in parallel with the rise in deployments, which is why we are pleased that CA is extending its security platforms for Web access management through CA SiteMinder and CA SOA Security Manager." According to IDC's July 2009 Worldwide Open Source Software 2009-2013 Forecast, global open source software revenues for 2008 were $2.9 billion, which is expected to grow by 34 percent in 2009 to $3.9 billion. By 2013, that global revenue growth is expected to hit $8.1 billion. "CA recognizes the demand for advanced Web security on open source infrastructures," said Jeff Broberg, Senior Director, CA Security and Compliance business unit. "We continue to proactively bring to market advanced Web security solutions to help ensure our customers can safely leverage the most widely used Web application platforms in the market, including Red Hat's JBoss Enterprise Middleware." CA SiteMinder and CA SOA Security Manager, part of CA's Secure Web Business Enablement portfolio, are standards-supporting products that help reduce IT security risks associated with deploying Web-based applications and Web services. CA SiteMinder enables a highly scalable Web access management system providing Web single sign-on, authentication management, policy-based authorization, identity federation and audit services. CA SOA Security Manager uses centralized security policies linked to user identities to provide XML threat prevention, authentication, authorization, federation, session management and security auditing services capabilities.
