Bangalore: A recent survey revealed the top 10 buzz words of 2011. Buzz words are a new trend setter and find a place everywhere, especially on job-search fields. Based on the profiles of 135 million professionals on Linkedin, the site came up with the most popular buzz words of 2011.

The 10 overused professional buzzwords in the United States were: Creative, Organizational, Effective, Extensive Experience, Track Record, Motivated, Innovative, Problem Solving, Communication Skills and Dynamic.

‘Creative’ was the top buzz word of U.S in 2011. On comparing words that made it last year as well as on 2010’s list, it was seen that 2010’s top buzzword ‘extensive experience’ still made it to top three in 2011. ‘Motivated’ was seen ranking higher than ‘innovative’ and words such as ‘results-oriented’, ‘fast-paced’, ‘entrepreneurial’ were seen off the list.

The year 2011 had a few methodological changes and included non-English profiles in the analysis after translating them. The adjectives were then aggregated in the summary section of the member’s public profiles and some of the overused nouns and irrelevant words were removed. Then the words in the list were sorted by frequency and top 10 for each country were taken.

Different buzz words were dominant in different countries. ‘Effective’ was the buzz word in India while ‘Multinational’ was the word in Brazil, ‘Dynamic’ In France, ‘Problem Solving’ in Italy, ‘Motivated’ in Ireland, ‘Managerial’ in Spain and ‘Track Record’ in Singapore. ‘Creative’ was seen as the buzz word of Australia, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom and the United States.

According to Linkedin other overused terms in India were 'dynamic', 'extensive experience', 'problem solving', 'motivated', 'track record', 'communication skills’ and ‘competitive’. Hari V Krishnan, LinkedIn India Country Manager said "Our members in India have realized the benefits of having a strong professional identity online to attract potential recruiters or business partners”, reported ZeeNews.com.
