Boston Software Consultants bags order from Singapore Tourism

BANGALORE: Boston Software Consultants (India) Pvt. Ltd. Monday announced that it has bagged a prestigious order from The Singapore Tourism Board to implement an E learning solution based on its flagship 'Intralearn' suite of e.learning solutions. The Singapore Tourism Specialist (STS) programme is a frontline Travel Agents training programme with the objective of cultivating a pool of Travel Agents around the world to become "specialists" in the Singapore tourism product. In order to further the development of the online web based programme to cater to an international audience, the online learning for The Boston Group (TBG) will provide Travel Agents with real time, 24-hour access to up-to-date information with intuitive and engaging online learning tools to stir up their interest and conviction for the Singapore travel product The e-STS shall be based on a two-tier structure to aid Travel Agents' learning. This takes into account the different needs of agents from various parts of the world, some of whom may be less knowledgeable about Singapore as compared to others. The first tier introduces the Travel Agents to essential information on Singapore's branding and products. It includes both core and elective modules to enable a certain level of customization to agents' interest and needs. The second tier of learning focuses on application and teaches agents to handle different customers' needs (e.g. family segments' interests and needs). Completion of the second tier learning and assessment will lead the Travel Agent to be certified as a Singapore Tourism Specialist. The objective of this exercise will be to provide Travel Agents worldwide with continuous access to an interactive and engaging online learning system which will train them to sell Singapore more effectively and support their sales of Singapore packages, build up a base of destination specialists around the world as well as to identify and maintain a core group of loyal Travel Agencies. The development of the course will be based on content scope and materials provided by STB. Boston will enhance the materials and also convert it to web-based for delivery over the Internet. The Boston Group (TBG) will also provide training for end users on navigating the learning environment and using the courseware.
