Biocon makes superb debut in bourses

BANGALORE : Biocon debuted in stunning fashion on the bourses on Wednesday, with the scrip closing at Rs 484.35 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and at Rs 487.30 on the National Stock Exchange.
Turning out to be one of the most traded counters, Biocon Ltd touched an intra-day high of Rs 507 and an intra-day low of Rs 400 on the BSE. The stock recorded a volume of 32,63,585 shares on BSE and 45,89,701 shares on NSE.
The Biocon India share listed today at Rs 435 on the BSE, enjoying a premium of 38 per cent, while on the NSE it opened at Rs 425, with a premium of 35 per cent.
Biocon had offered one crore shares in its public offer that opened on March 11, and closed on March 18. The issue price for the stock was Rs 315. The company raised Rs 315 crore from the primary market and the issue was oversubscribed by more than 32 times.
