Gurgaon: Indian banks have shown resilence during the global economic crisis but there should be no room for complacency as the environment remained uncertain, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said Sunday.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Oriental Bank of Commerce corporate office here, Mukherjee asked banks to contribute to the all round development of the country by providing e-banking facilities to the common man.
The corporate office has shifted from New Delhi to Gurgaon.
Minister of State for Finance Namo Narayan Meena, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and the bank CMD Nagesh Pyadah were also present on the occasion.
The bank has a total business mix of 267,000 crore with a customer base of more than 1.77 crore.
