Aspire Systems to ramp up workforce

BANGALORE: Chennai headquartered Aspire Systems, a pioneer in the 'Outsourced Product Development' space, today announced that the company will increase its headcount from an existing strength of 160 to 500 by the end of financial year 2005. Having witnessed an increase in the demand for outsourced product development, the company is investing 
40 crores over 3 years in an "Offshore Innovation Center" in Siruseri, Chennai. The first phase of the new facility is scheduled to be completed by April 2005.
"The enormous pressure on software product companies for faster time-to-market, coupled with the need to introduce new products with more features and the rapid changes in technology, have been the chief drivers of outsourcing in this space. As a specialist in outsourced product development, we see significant potential to scale-up our operations" said Gowri Shankar Subramanian, Chief Executive Officer,
Aspire Systems.
Nasscom-McKinsey projects the products and technology services space to be $8-11 billion by 2008. Aspire has been providing its product development expertise to various US based companies through its engineers in India who have hundreds of man-years of experience in this niche. "Product development is a more stable and scalable niche. Only companies that have shown exemplary standards and track record can efficiently service clients in product development," commented Subramanian.
Bhoovarahan Thirumalai, Executive Vice President, Aspire Systems, said, " Aspire has been experiencing rapid growth over the past three years and we expect our growth momentum to continue in the foreseeable future. From a current strength of 160, we anticipate reaching 220 by March, 2005. Our goal is to recruit extremely capable technical people who have a high-level of competence in building architectural frameworks for software product development. The core technology focus areas are in
Java, .NET and C/C++.
