Aptech Training revenue up 21%

BANGALORE: Aptech Training Limited, the global IT education and training firm, has reported total global revenue of 86.65 crore for the quarter ended June 30th, 2002, registering an increase of 21 percent compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The global revenue for the year ended March 31, 2002 stood at 301.45 crore. The company reported total turnover of 40.57 crore for the quarter ended June 30th, 2002 and the total expenses were at 34.87 crore for the quarter, the company said in an official release. The company has put in place aggressive cost rationalization measures the full impact of which is likely to result in savings in the current year. The gross profit after interest but before depreciation and taxation stood at 5.70 crore yielding a margin of 14.04 percent, which is a significant improvement over the annual margin of 6.36 percent reported for FY02. The Profit Before Tax has been reported at 1.16 Cr while the Net Profit After Tax was 1.06 Cr. “While the training and education business faced considerable pressures last year, the broad based product strategy and fresh initiatives pursued by the company have been able to partly counter the slowdown impact which is evident in the performance in the past quarter,” says Pramod Khera, managing director, Aptech Training Limited The company entered into a strategic alliance with I Flex Solutions to offer training courses on Flexcube, “We are extremely upbeat on BPO, which forms an integral part of the ITES industry expected to be a $17 billion industry and generate 1.1 million jobs by 2008,” he says
