Bangalore: Applied Materials, who creates nano manufacturing technology for the manufacturing and production industries announced the launch of Applied SmartFactory MES software designed to streamline and track materials throughout the manufacturing production process. It can also help all users improve the consistency of their production line. The software is intended for used in the production of components for solar, LED and chip packaging and can improve the quality of the product, productivity and reduce costs. Charlie Pappis, vice president and general manager of Applied Global Services, in a statement said, "With the SmartFactory system, customers can realize the benefits of Applied's proven manufacturing automation technology with a ready-to-use solution that can be expanded as their businesses and industries grow without disrupting ongoing production." The SmartFactory system is based on the company's FAB300 MES technology. The system monitors the output of each machine, tracks the movement of the materials, creates an audit trail and provides employees instructions on what to do with the material next. This reduces downtime and reduces costs associated with production. Additionally, the framework of the system can be expanded with other components that plug into, and seamlessly integrate into, other factory automation software from Applied Materials.
