Apple suspend iPhone 4S sales amidst chaos in China

Bangalore: Desperation to lay hands on iPhone 4S at the earliest has cost the Chinese some time as Apple has taken a stern decision to suspend sales after the iPhone outlet was egged.

Irate customers who waited in freezing temperatures for hours, were asked to return later as security became an issue. The flagship store, however promised the shoppers that iPhone will be available online, through its partner China Unicom or at official Apple resellers as quoted by The Economic Times.

Many of the customers left waiting in temperatures   -9 degrees were working for touts who try to buy popular products in bulk and sell them on at a profit.

"The demand for the iPhone 4S has been incredible and our stores in China have already sold out," Apple said in a statement. "Unfortunately we were unable to open our store at Sanlitun due to the large crowd and to ensure the safety of our customers and employees the iPhone will not be available in our retail stores in Beijing and Shanghai for the time being," Apple said.
